Angel of Edgewood hosts large scale community events that bring people together around dignity, access, and care. With core support from Greater Hartford Gives Foundation, private donors, and sponsors, we deliver signature events across Greater Hartford, including:

• Black History Month programming
• Women’s History Month and DEI Celebration
• Back to School Extravaganza
• PROJECT: Angel Wings in December
• Pre-Thanksgiving Community Breakfast

These events are more than gatherings. They are access points for resources, services, connection, and belonging.

Our Signature Programs

Back to School Extravaganza
Connecticut’s largest back to school initiative, held annually at Dunkin Park with the Hartford Yard Goats. Thousands of children receive school supplies, clothing, health and mental wellness screenings, food, and vital resources, alongside a joyful, community centered experience that includes celebrity hosts and special guests.

PROJECT: Angel Wings
A holiday program serving children and young adults with disabilities, offering gifts, sensory friendly experiences, and a warm holiday meal for the entire family.

Women’s History Month and DEI Celebration
An annual event honoring equity trailblazers, thought leaders, and community heroes whose work inspires change and impact.

Pre-Thanksgiving Community Breakfast
Annual event hosted by United States Senators Chris Murphy and Richard Blumenthal, this beloved event invites families and neighbors to share a hot meal together and take an extra plate for a neighbor, reinforcing that everyone belongs at the table.

Mobile Community Outreach
Evening, weekend, and holiday food distributions, along with our annual air conditioner initiative for vulnerable seniors.
